Welcome to Core Movement a Mat Pilates Studio located in the beautiful small town of New Wilmington, PA. Here we believe that movement is more than exercise— it’s connection, balance, and strength that starts deep within. Founded by Claudia Martin, a master Pilates educator with over 18 years of teaching experience, Core Movement was built on the belief that Pilates should be accessible, empowering, and transformative for every body.
Our Story
What makes Claudia Martin’s approach to Pilates truly unique is her foundation in two of the most influential methods in modern movement— Classical Pilates and LAGREE Fitness.
Claudia trained directly under Sebastien Lagree, the creator of the revolutionary LAGREE Fitness method in 2007. His mentorship and certification gave Claudia the tools to integrate the endurance, intensity, and modern athleticism of LAGREE into her teaching style— creating dynamic, results-driven workouts that stay true to Pilates principles while pushing the boundaries of what the body can do.
Later that year Claudia was personally mentored and certified by Mari Winsor, one of the most iconic and respected figures in the Pilates world, often credited for bringing Classical Pilates to the mainstream. Under Mari’s guidance, Claudia deepened her understanding of the traditional method — learning the importance of precision, alignment, and control — and how the mind-body connection transforms strength into grace.
This rare combination of Classical Pilates discipline and LAGREE innovation allows Claudia to offer a truly balanced and intelligent approach to movement — one that builds deep, functional strength while improving posture, stability, and body awareness.
In 2013, she turned her passion into purpose by opening her first Pilates studio—a welcoming space built on community, movement, and mindful connection.
Just two years later, in 2015, Claudia opened her second studio—an incredible milestone that came only two months after giving birth to her baby girl. That experience shaped not only her perspective as a mother, but also her desire to support women through all stages of life and motherhood.
In 2019, Claudia opened her third studio, created especially for mamas. This space quickly became a supportive haven for women, featuring prenatal, postnatal, and mommy-and-me classes designed to nurture strength, confidence, and self-care.
Over the years, Claudia has had the privilege of training a wide range of clients—from Hollywood’s well-known celebrities to professional athletes. Her down-to-earth approach, combined with her deep knowledge of Pilates and genuine care for each individual, has earned her a loyal following and lasting impact in the wellness community.
Claudia believes Pilates is more than just a workout—it’s a way to reconnect with yourself, rebuild from within, and move through life with strength and grace.
